Since its inception in 2014, ShadowTech Day has been providing experiences for girls in years 9-11 to shadow a tech professional.
In 2021, ShadowTech Teachers was introduced to provide first hand insights into the various roles within the tech sector. ShadowTech Teachers helps equip teachers with practical knowledge to better support learners in pursuing tech careers.
Following a two year hiatus due to the pandemic, ShadowTech Day recommenced in 2023, welcoming students into the workplace.
In 2024, we are delighted to be hosting ShadowTech Day throughout New Zealand. ShadowTech Day offers girls an opportunity to discover the world of tech, spark their curiosity and explore career pathways.
We’re showcasing real roles to
show there’s a tech job to suit everyone. Matched with local tech companies, students will gain hands-on experience to imagine their future career. This includes a workplace tour, workshop activities and authentic storytelling of tech careers.
We’re inspiring girls to join Aotearoa’s fastest growing and highest paid sector.
