Would you like to influence the next generation of young women to pursue a career in technology, and help them make the right study choices to achieve their goals?
Sign your school up for ShadowTech and help to create the future technology landscape in New Zealand, and encourage as many girls in years 9 -11 as possible to get involved.
The ShadowTech programme, run by NZTech, encourage young women to consider a career in tech. School students are paired with women working in IT, and shadow them for the day.
How does ShadowTech work?
ShadowTech is a national mentoring programme with events across New Zealand. In each region, ShadowTech is held on a single day each year, and coordinated by a local tertiary institute.
Students and mentors register their interest in participating, and are matched by the tertiary provider. They meet in a central location to hear inspirational speakers, then spend the day with mentors at their workplace; attending meetings; being introduced to various departments, and mentors even take the girls out for lunch!
The day ends with a group briefing back at the main venue, and an opportunity to provide feedback for the following year.
